RULES:

1. “The first rule about dance class is you don’t talk about” YOUR BODY AS IF IT’S A BAD THING I’M SERIOUS YOU BE NICE OR YOU HAVE FIVE SETS OF POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS STARTING NOW

2. Racism is not allowed

3. Homophobia is not allowed

4. Transphobia is not allowed

5. Bigotry of any kind is not allooooooowed

"There is, and will never be, the voice of a 'Crossfit Chad' yelling at you to work harder or push through pain or discomfort in Teasing and Toning classes. These classes are designed for YOU. They are actually for you to feel GOOD. Not in an after-the-fact, you'll-thank-me-later kind of a way. In an endorphin rush, I love being here, my body feels so good moving that way kind of way. Don't feel like working out today? Don't. Come to class and do everything low impact. Do the body rolls only, while you check yourself out in your hot workout clothes. You'll probably start feelin' it by the time Kesha drops her fifth f-bomb and we're beating the floor in time with it, but no lies or tricks here. This is all self care. It's all love. It's all good stuff." -Belle Chose

Q&A:

Q: Are we really stripping?

A: Technically, yes? I will have silk scarves for everyone (washed before every class for SURE, but you’re welcome to bring your own) and we will “wear” them in different ways over our clothes throughout the class so that we can take them off in different ways. The content of the class is mostly dancing.

Q: What is the dress code for this class?

A. Safe clothes and shoes- so number one, shoes you can attempt to twist, turn, shuffle, slide, bend, and otherwise act crazy in. Or you can just be barefoot if you don’t intend to be doing a whole lot of the jumping. If you have breasts and they tend to be sensitive to impact and you plan on moving with impact, I’d suggest planning for that. Please don’t wear flowy, long bottoms that you could potentially trip on. Other than that, dress in what you feel sexy in! If you are trying to to decide between a modest outfit and one that is less modest, I encourage you to choose less modest. You will help foster the class environment of support and personal body acceptance we want AND you will be more comfortable if you get hot from working out.

Q: What else should I bring to class?

1. Your membership information in your app or email confirmation

2. Water bottle

3. A lightweight wrap (there are some available for rent at the studio for $2 if you don't have one)

4. Optional: yoga mat for your knees and feet during floor and chair work

Q: How challenging is this class, cardio-wise?

A: It’s as challenging as you prefer it to be. This class is absolutely about making you feel good. Forget that guilt-based motivation to workout. That’s bull. If you feel good with your heart pounding in your chest in time with music and sweating and releasing endorphins like a mofo, you can do that! If you feel good controlling every movement with measured breathing and keeping calm, do that! I support you. I’m serious. And this class gives you that option to take it high or keep it low, and not sacrifice the vibe that you’re presumably coming for (it’s gonna get hot in here!)
